If you could see any musical what would you see? I’ve wanted to see Book of Mormon for years as I think it has such a great storyline. It came to the Sandy Springs Theatre last year but I was out of town. I’m hoping I can see it at the Fox Theatre in the future.
What got you interested in musicals? My friends acted in Into the Woods in middle school. I was always excited to hear their experience but didn't want to act. I joined tech crew as a costumer freshman year. I’m constantly jamming out to musicals with my costuming pals.
It sounds like you don’t play sports. Does this mean you don’t play sports? I played basketball and volleyball in middle school but stopped them to do tech. Funny enough, I won a basketball competition for advisory challenge.
Did you prefer basketball or volleyball? My favorite part of sports was the team aspect. I looked forward to goofing off with my teammates more than the actual games. I always had friends to goof off with on the basketball team.
It seems like you’re not competitive. Do you ever get riled up? I’m so uncompetitive that it bothers people. I love seeing others succeed. While I haven’t been to a ton of sports games, I alway get uncomfortable when the fans for our team are messing with the other team. Go #ScotsNation, but please be friendlier at games.
How many games have you been to? For the first two years of high school, I went to one volleyball game and one basketball game total. This year, my sister joined the softball team so I made it out to a few of their games. I went to two basketball games, one swim meet, one baseball game, and two soccer games. I’m getting better but I’m not as into sports as Hype Committee is.
If you don’t go to sporting events on Friday nights, what do you do? I’m in BBYO, a Jewish youth group, so I’m often with my BBYO friends. We might be celebrating Shabbat or going on adventures. We frequently end up at Whole Foods to grab a slice of pizza. Vegan pizza there is so good.
It’s cool that you’re vegan. What’s the food you miss the most? Hands down challah. I was never a fan of meat but I miss the sweet taste of the airy egg bread. I went to a Chabad in Berkeley that had vegan challah. It was one of the best meals of my life because I missed it so much.
It sounds like you’re into food. What’s your favorite meal? My dad is a great cook. He’s made my culinary taste much wider than most people my age. I love masala curry. The rich flavors blending together are delicious. I’m also a huge fan of fresh tomatoes mixed with balsamic vinaigrette.
That food sounds delicious. Did you garden growing up? My dad and I started a garden in Early Learning that we kept for several years. We planted mint one year that overtook the garden so we stopped doing it. My sister has started a garden. I’m so excited to eat the fruit vegetables and fruit.
What’s your favorite memory with your sister? I love driving my sister places. Sometimes we chat about totally obscure topics, other times she’ll play today’s hip music, or we’ll just drive in silence. Our ten minute drive to school is a constant in my life that I love.
Where’s your favorite place to go now that you can drive? A lot of my close friends live in North Springs so I’m often up there or somewhere near Piedmont Park. Piedmont Park is such a mystical land to me with all the people watching. You can never get bored there!
